Hello,

In Odoo 16, I have configured some of my products to have “MTO” and “Buy” operations.

It seems to work well in principle: I create a customer quote, as soon as I confirm it, a supplier quote is created with the items to be ordered. Receipt and delivery pickings are also generated.

I'm having a bit of trouble understanding how it really works and how to configure operations and routes correctly, because I can't get it to work as I'd like.

Let's say I already have 35 copies of a product in stock. If I create a sales quotation to sell 40 to a customer, a purchase order to the supplier will be created with quantity 40.

I would like only 5 copies to be ordered, and the 35 already in stock to be included in the quote.

Is this possible? Is it just a matter of configuration?

Thanks in advance,

Mélanie

MTO works like you describe.  If you want to take into account what you have in stock, the best alternative is to skip MTO and use reordering rules with min qty =0.  The you will get a requirement to purchase only what is missing in stock.  Quite similar to MTO.

It is possible to manually override MTO: Reduce the purchase order, and manually pick also what you have in stock.  But stock will not be reserved.
