i did followed it and allowed port 8069 and http as well as https traffic. with out any success..
Make sure that either port 8069 is opened in GCE or use NAT. Check out their documentation on how to configure that.
my first contribution :)
you need to open up the firewall inside google
gcloud compute firewall-rules create allow-http --description "Incoming http allowed." --allow tcp:8069 --format json
even so cannot access to it :/

@palitha, what port are you trying to access it on? Could you give more details regarding your installation method (eg. link to a script, or list of commands) and OS and OS Version (eg. Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit server edition)? This will help troubleshoot.
Luke, I just followed this http://www.nkr1ptd.com/2014/11/installing-odoo-version-8-on-ubuntu.html and went on OK.. and Odoo version 8 on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Server 64-bit. i tried it with http://ip:8069,

@palitha, Have you checked your logs for any signs of issues there? I'm not sure what the path to the logfile is for your instance, but in mine it's: /var/log/odoo/odoo-server.log i've never setup an instance on google compute engine, so i'm not familiar with how their framework is setup. It is most likely that either the service is not running on the specified port due to some installation or dependency issue, or the port is not available to the public.
