Hello community. I created a model in studio (Quality Module) and then I understand that I dont need it. How can I delete it?
Odoo is the world's easiest all-in-one management software.
It includes hundreds of business apps:

You'll have to manually delete the views for the new model (and maybe other things) and then you should be able to delete the Model.
- Enable Developer mode
- Delete any related fields if you have linked this Model to another Model
- Delete the views in Settings / Technical / User Interface / Views
- Delete the menu items in Settings / Technical / User Interface / Menu Items
- Delete the Model in Settings / Technical / Database structure / Models
If you created tags for the Model you will need to follow similar steps to delete them.
If you used other features such as Contact Details on your new model it seems to get complicated, so it might be simpler just to remove the menu items associated with the new Model.
Hi Chris,
Trying to delete a model with no models linked to it, no views, and no menu items, but getting this message when deleting the model from the Database structure menu:
Invalid Operation
This column contains module data and cannot be removed!
I realized that the model, created with studio, also had Groups, but I still can't delete it. Any other place to check that you can think of?
Thanks!
Hi Emilio - have you checked whether there is any data in your model that is related to other models? For example, a customer or a product. The error might be related to that, but it's difficult to know without seeing the full picture!
Hi,
Firstly, remove any actions and operations created in
the custom module. Proceed to Settings/Technical/User Interface/Menu
Items, locate and delete the menu item (icon). It's important to note
that this action only removes the menu item; it doesn't delete the
models, fields, views, etc., created within it. Following the deletion
of menus, navigate to Settings/Technical/Views, search for the views,
delete them. Subsequently, visit "Models" and proceed with the deletion
of the models.
Hope it helps
Hi Cybrosys. Just wondering why you are posting almost exactly the same answer I posted a few hours earlier.
