Since we upgraded from Odoo v14 to v17, we've noticed a difference between our bank balance and the last statement on the dashboard. Our data is fetched from the bank every 12 hours, yet the two values do not match. In v14, the bank statements were automatically created, and both lines always matched.


Can anyone help us understand why this discrepancy is happening in v17 and how to fix it?

Can you check if the opening or ending balance changed for some entries after migration? 

For example, in version 14, you may have some statements with incorrect ending/starting balances, such as a last month's ending statement balance of 1000 EUR and the current month's opening balance of 1500 EUR. Migration scripts may recompute such statements and correct the sequential ending and starting balances. This will make a difference. In the above example, 500 EUR would show as a difference. 

If you can find such entries, you need to create a statement for the difference amount and reconcile again. 

Anyway, first reconcile the three items and check the difference

Hi @Akhilesh N S, Thanks for the advice but this is not the issue as we do not have any differences opening balance of new statement and the closing balance of the statement previous.

The main issue is arising from the fact that under v14 the statement were automatically being generated by Odoo following the data sync from the bank. However, with v17 we are not seeing Odoo statements being automotically generated and stuck at a particular date hence the number from the last statement figure is where it's stuck at. We can generate it manually but this can be time consuming.
