Hello everyone,

I’m experiencing an issue with anchor links in Odoo Website Builder. I’ve created a button that should scroll to a specific section on the same page (#anmeldung), but clicking the button does nothing.

I tested the link manually by appending #anmeldung to the URL in the browser and it works as expected.

The button works if I right-click it and open the link in a new tab, but it doesn’t scroll to the section on the same page.

I suspect it could be an Odoo-specific issue, possibly with caching, JavaScript interference, or how the website builder handles anchor links.


Any guidance on resolving this would be greatly appreciated!

I have exactly the same problem as described above in Odoo 19.
Everything is set up correctly, the section anchor and the link but it only works if I open the link with the anchor in a new tab or by entering the URL manually.
If I click on the button with the anchor link, nothing happens.
The link looks like this:

The anchor section:

There's something wrong with the Odoo anchor javascript.
Any help appreciated.

Hi Eva,

Thank you for your response. I had already tried this, but unfortunately, the scrolling still isn’t working. It only works if I right-click on the button and select "Open Link in New Tab."

Hi Elen,

You may have forgotten a step in preparing the whole thing.

Step 1.  Select the place where you want to move to.

Step 2. Click on the anchor-creation button 

Step 3. Add the anchor as the goal for the button. it should be selectable.
