I am currently using it very successfully.
To simplify the work I have made a data pump for moving Google Spreadsheet data into OpenERP V7 by means of the XMLRPC interface.
You can get it here: https://github.com/martinhbramwell/GData_OpenERP_Data_Pump
You will need a bit of programming experience, and you may need to learn a bit of Python syntax. I've tried to handle anything more complicated than that within the framework.
