I have read on your site that "Upgrades to future versions" is not included in community edition, can you help me please getting it clear? does it mean that in the other edition you will help clients doing the upgrade to the most recent version, while on the community edition I should do the data migration myself?

Yes, Community Edition upgrade is not supported by Odoo S.A.S but Enterprise Edition is, so basically you can send them your v8 database and they will migrate the core data to v9, but for the Community Edition you may try OCA's OpenUpgrade to upgrade your db schema.
