ACT! allows export of just the base records as a CSV file. The notes and callback dates get left behind.
To get data over "properly", that requires a premium version of ACT! along with a Microsoft Server running MS-SQL and then whatever code to single step through each ACT! record then place the contents within OpenERP. Given the end-user site is a Unix server shop with mixed Unix/Windows workstations they lack the Microsoft set of software and do not have the more expensive ACT! licence so they are not thrilled to spend the $$$ to establish the software base for the porting.
So I've been told to ask:
- Has anyone done this before?
- How much would you charge on a per-record basis to take a backup or export of an ACT! database and provide the scripts/records to import into OpenERP 7.0?
And for my own edification:
- Does web-base ACT! import old ACT! databases?
- Is there an ODBC link option on web-based ACT! so the data could be exported?
