I want to add my client reference in my delivery order, is this possible?

Create a custom module that inherits the reference field from sales order, also create a field where the reference will be in delivery order and create an onchange function that carries the field content over.
It looks like "Add Customer Reference from Sales Order to Stock Picking overview" at https://www.openerp.com/apps/6.0/stock_picking_clientorderref may do this.
I'm using V7 so this module would not work?
