I have the point of sale module installed and I am trying to get an exisiting Thermal Reciept Printer working that we are using with an existing POS system. The thermal reciept printer we are using is the Obvios ORP-800 - connected by serial to usb.

I am a completely novice when it comes to this stuff so I really need some help.

When trying to print directly to the thermal reciept printer through printer preview it just prints a long blank piece of paper.

This system we are using is Windows 7. When I look at the thermal reciept Properties > Ports it is connected via COM10 - Also noticed it uses the driver Generic / Text Only.

If any one can help me it would be appreciated. Please try keep it simple and straight forward.

Thank you

Have you tried using other driver for the printer?

Hi Ahmed,

This is how this printer is installed: http://kb.reckon.com.au/issue_view.asp?ID=3764

So this thermal printer is installed and then is communicating through a serial usb converter through COM10.

See Picture:

In the Printers Menu > Thermal Reciept Printer is setup for the printer. It is using driver Generic / Text-Only. This is currently working for my current POS.

Why would I need to change driver if it is currently working in WIN7 with my current setup?

It will just not work with Odoo when selected as receipt printer.
