Issue while trying to configure outgoing mail server.

I tried setting up the outgoing server with the following credentials:

SMTP Server : smtp.gmail.com, SMTP Port : 465, Connection Security : SSL/TLS, Username : myusername@gmail.com, Password : ***

The Test connection is successful, but when I try to reset the password of a new user it fails to send the password with the following message:

Cannot send email: no outgoing email server configured. You can configure it under Settings/General Settings.

Any clue will be helpful..
