Is Odoo prepared for manufacturing control in a chemical plant, where we control the quality of raw material and products, and the reaction do not have always the expected result?

eg: 

Manufacturing salt 
raw material: 
   - Hydrochloric acid 
      density 1.12 g/ml 
      concentration 32% 
      yellowish appearance 

   - Caustic soda 
      apparent density 0.64 kg/dm3 
      purity 98% 

finished product 
    - Sodium chloride 
      apparent density 1.8 g/ml 
      purity 94% 

after mixing 1 L of hydrochloric acid with 0.5 kg, it was missing add 50 mL of hydrochloric acid due to impurities (fictitious values ​​rounded for clarity) 

In this example we have quality control both before and after the product has been made. And we have the problem that the formula is not exact, always needs to be corrected.

As for the manufacturing itself, you will probably end up writing a custom module. Maybe the community has a similair module already but I don't know about that. You can always start with the MRP module that allows you to create multiple products with a single BOM. Look for that in the modules list. This could help you with the production of "product" and "waste".

As for the quality assurance; You can use a push and/or pull flow on your products. Create new stock locations for QA before and after and make sure that produced goods and materials go from suppliers --> QA --> stock and stock --> QA --> production location. OpenERP does not have a default GAMP module (assuming you work with that method) as far as I know.
