I would like to get a pdf or excel file from the sales (invoiced) by category of a specific period.
Thanks a lot for any advice on how to get this !

Not sure what you exactly want to do. However, what you could try is to use the export functionality to get one or multiple exel or csv files.
EDIT: This is valid for version 7.0 only (version wasn't specified)
Make your selection
You go in your tree view of sale orders, then make the appropriate filters. On invoiced status and your defined period.
For period, uses bigger than and lesser than with advanced filters.
Be sure to us a AND operator instead of a OR, don't add both limit in the same advanced filter.
Configure your export
When you are ready, click on More -> Export
Here you will have to choose exel instead of csv then select all the fields you need (you can save this setting) and launch the export. It will only export the results selected by your filter.

Hello ! Thanks for your answer. First, I forgot to say that I use v. 5 of OpenERP. Second, I want to export the sales data by category (for each product you may define a category). For example "Food", "Drinks", "Service" in a Restaurant. But if I export the orders as a whole I do not have this.
