Hi, I'm interested in substituting attributes with icons, images, or colour tiles for the E-comerce frontend. I've seen this implemented in the runbots in regards to colour/size tiles. What I would like to implement is colours, tiles, or images for various attributes for products whether they be configurable products (eg. the frontend user gets to choose between a black or a white ipad) as well as simple product attributes that might be applied across a range of products that are simply there for information rather than to configure your product.
An example of the simple (ie. not-configurable) product attributes icons/images I would like to achieve can be seen at the very bottom of the page found at the following link:
I would be aiming to implement this as a snippet to be compatible with the current bootswatch and design-themes branches found at github.com/odoo/design-themes that would be forked from the main design-themes branch as a template. I think this would be an incredibly useful tool and would allow for mass update of product attributes via CSV that would allow for a nice presentation of the features in a visual way without having to update each product page individually by hand.
I will post back here with what I find, however if anyone has any insight into how the image/icon/colour tiles can be attached to a product attribute please comment below as I value any insight into how this might be achieved.
