I have no knowledge about Odoo, but I am a web designer.  Where do I start?

Here are the resources I'd suggest for getting up to speed with Odoo as a website building tool, based on the kinds of questions other website designers have asked me:

  • Odoo is a theme (overall look and feel) and building block (widget) based WYSIWYG website builder with low level access to the XML for further customization options.  Technically, the system leverages Twitter Bootstrap, jQuery, jQuery UI and underscore.js (open source web technologies not unique to Odoo).   Website builders can provide LESS based styles to influence the user experience and write their own JavaScript functions.
