We have implemented analytic accounting for purchase orders, allowing us to track the value of purchased equipment of different types.

In addition to this, we wish to have one analytic account for the entire purchase order. This overall analytic account would be a project number - so essentially we can track purchase orders for a given project, also the value of each type of equipment being purchased.

Is this possible, or is there a better way to achieve what we are trying to do?

We did consider making analytic accounts for each equipment type under each project, but we have maybe 20 types of equipment which are used on multiple projects and the number of accounts adds up quickly!
