Hello guys,

I have seen many times the sign « # » in qweb templates. What is his utility? Would you have some documentation about this sign?

Hi @Pascal

That is one of the supported ways to use expressions in qweb templates. It refers to Ruby style of Expression interpolation, the other way is Jinja Style.

The regular expression used in Odoo qweb to match those kind of expressions langs is:

    _format_regex = re.compile(
        '(?:'
            # ruby-style pattern
            '#\{(.+?)\}'
        ')|(?:'
            # jinja-style pattern
            '\{\{(.+?)\}\}'
        ')')

But what is the difference between using « # » and not using it?

the difference is that you could use #{ expression } or {{ expression }} for your expressions, you choice, it's the same
