What does 9.0 do that 8.0 doesn't do?
Better question is: What will v9 do DIFFERENT than v8 .....
For now, i guess accounting will be rewritten like stock compared in v8 compared to v7
Guess we have to wait until odoo shows us all the news...and then again the hardwork of rewriting the custom modules and localizations..

That page says 9.0 is due for release in June 2015. Will it be considered stable at that point or it becomes stable later?
