we are trying to make a SAAS implementation with community edition of Odoo 10 the number of clients that we expecting is 2000 it may extend upto 20000. We are assuming the number of users as 10 user per clients.

Please give us the suggestions and the hardware requirements for the same?

Are you very sure you want to do this though? ;-) I've answered a pretty similar question at https://www.odoo.com/forum/help-1/question/how-can-i-start-with-create-my-odoo-saas-142945#answer-142954 - perhaps it can give you some extra insight.

Hi Yenthe Van Ginneken

I read your answer that you shared perhaps I had read it before also when we start thinking of the project itself (last December) also the other possibility that you mentioned in the answer. But in my case it is not possible as the number of customers is high, manual creation of the replicas and configuration of the databases are not that easy.

We are thinking of giving same facilities to all the customers with 2 or 3 user groups none with technical rights,

Now my concern is what will be the other things that I have to taken care of also the hardware requirements

Hello Voxtron,

Yes, you can achieve it with the help of plugin. The module facilitates you to offer Odoo as SaaS to your clients. You can start your Odoo SaaS service with the module.

https://store.webkul.com/odoo-saas-kit.html

Providing Odoo as service means you want to offer the software to your clients from your server. Moreover, it allows you to offer subscription-based software to the clients.

Olivier Dony conference is a good start. Not only it gives tips and tricks for performance issues but the Odoo saas hardware is shown. You will need a Postgresql server, multiple Odoo server and a load balancer. How to calculate the size of each is basicaly explained.

The slides and the video conference are available :

Hi All,

I have something similar requirement to this thread “Odoo saas implementation with community edition 12.0” however on a smaller scale.

Basically I have a requirement to implement "independent" but ”largely similar solution (95% of the time)". It's mostly hosted @ client location(s) (Windows OS).

So going forward I am thinking of using Docker based deployment.

1. What are the issues can arise with these type of implementations (User base ~ 100 - 150. However 5 concurrent workers mac)?

2, How we can protect Odoo @ client location so that it won’t be changed or tampered with?

3.  Last but not the least how we can develop apps for Community edition. (The main reason to use community edition is due to niche vertical solution aimed @ specific industry)

4. If any points you think is worth consideration?

I appreciate your observations/comments/advice. Thank you

Best regards,

Ibrahim
