As a field service engineer I need to have access to my planning and the parts in my car (mobile warehouse) when I am offline, so that I can register my progress in my tasks when I am working several floors underground.

Is it possible to take some data offline, for instance the planning, the task information, or even the spare parts in the back of the car of the service engineer that he needs during a certain maintenance task.

The goal is to sync this information when the engineer is online again.

No. POS is the only app designed to work offline.

Hi,


Field Services does not work offline.

This would require major architectural changes that we have no current plans for.

The Awesome Timesheets app does work offline, so field workers can still log time against their assigned Task and this is synched when a connection becomes available.

Thanks for the explanation. Happy to know some offline functionality is available. Hopefully the described case will get on the roadmap in due time.

It isn't *quite* true that we don't have current plans for an offline mode - just that we are not ready to talk too much about said plans but we *are* starting some of the architectural changes needed. For example - https://github.com/odoo/odoo/pull/206004 - but DO NOT TELL ANYONE ELSE - It is a secret for now !!!

Appreciate the additional note. The link to the similar case where progressive web apps is suggested is actually the technical implementation where I was referring to. My case description is an actual case and I designed a functional design for it, together with the suggested technology. Back then I worked at an ERP company where the head of development wanted everyone to believe the technology wasn't available.
In my opinion the case I described does not have the same objections as Christoph declared in his answer. I is more simple, no checks for changes needed. Hench, the task list is assigned to an engineer. The mobile warehouse as well.
So this could be a nice case to test the development you are referring to. Maybe this will inspire you in return.
