In a world driven by innovation, Mirgor stands as a trailblazer, revolutionizing industries from automotive to agriculture with cutting-edge technology. With nine industrial sites capable of manufacturing a variety of products, Mirgor is able to partner with a variety of international brands, including Samsung, Toyota, Ford, and Mercedes-Benz.

Founded in 1983, Mirgor started by producing car air-conditioning systems in the city of Río Grande in Argentina. Over the past 40 years, the company has expanded its operations tremendously and, in 2018, even founded its own retail brand, Diggit, with 20 physical storefronts. Through investment and development, Mirgor strives to turn technology into experiences that improve people's lives everywhere.

Today, the company continues to grow and achieve new success levels, with an annual revenue of approximately 2 billion dollars in 2022. This ongoing expansion into new industries required robust business software to help manage operations on a large scale and support a variety of functions across many sites. This is where Odoo comes in.

Stalled systems: Mirgor's pre-Odoo struggles

Prior to using Odoo, Mirgor was using Presea software, which had a set of custom-developed applications and many integrations to address the company’s unique requirements. While the software initially worked for the company, Mirgor’s exponential growth proved difficult for the old system to keep up with. Juan Daniel Perez, IT Manager at Mirgor, explains that Presea started constantly crashing when attempting to handle information and communication amongst various company locations.

The previous system could no longer scale to support Mirgor's operation. Due to the number of applications and their integrations, developments were complex and slow.

Juan also notes that Mirgor did not have an established warehouse management system with Presea, which slowed efficiency down tremendously. Operators had to manually invoice orders as they were shipped out. With more growth for the company inevitably ahead, it became clear that Presea was no longer able to effectively support Mirgor’s needs.

As Juan considered alternative software solutions to Presea, he looked into Odoo, which he had become aware of at a previous job. He explains that a number of factors contributed to the company’s ultimate decision to go with Odoo. In addition to an attractive price point, Odoo’s open-source nature and user-friendly programming language appealed to Juan as an IT Manager, especially with an anticipated high number of customizations that Mirgor would end up needing.

Unlocking success with Odoo

In July 2023, Mirgor officially went live with Odoo with the support of Odoo Partner Blueorange. When reflecting on the company’s implementation experience, Juan admits that the transition was quite challenging, with over 80 stores and warehouses migrating to the new system. Mirgor and Blueorange addressed these challenges by training the company’s staff and putting together their own team of developers and functional analysts, which was key to the success of the transition. Juan explains that Blueorange’s continued support throughout the implementation and post-go-live stages of Mirgor’s journey has been key:

We work daily with the Blueorange team. Part of the success of this implementation is their great dedication and commitment.

Now, over a year into its journey with Odoo, Mirgor’s day-to-day operations have noticeably improved with the software’s functionalities. Juan says that overall, Odoo provides him and other management with end-to-end business visibility that wasn’t possible before. With Presea, a lack of warehouse management was a pain point for the company, and daily operations were made slower by the inability to automate certain tasks, such as invoices. With Odoo, warehouse operations have significantly improved, with Odoo Barcode speeding up workflows and invoices being automatically sent to customers.

I would recommend [Odoo], in fact I have already recommended it to other IT managers who were thinking about migrating.

Overall, Juan says that having all of Mirgor’s business information consolidated in a single system has been a game-changer. Specifically, unifying stock and managing inventory in different warehouse locations has been crucial for such a widespread business that spans across borders. Additionally, Odoo’s high level of customizability was a perfect fit for Mirgor’s complex needs as a company that deals with a variety of industries and products. Juan explains that the business has more than taken advantage of Odoo’s open-source nature, having already developed a lot of custom applications for various workflows. He says that Odoo allows for fast solutions to any operational issues that arise on a daily basis.

As Mirgor continues to lead industries with its forward-thinking technology, Odoo’s integration and functionality has enabled the company to scale with confidence. With its growth and global reach only expanding, having automated operations and ease of communication amongst various warehouses and storefronts has made the world of a different. As Migor continues to strive to enrich lives through innovation, Odoo is prepared to support its endeavors every step of the way.
