Hi , when I click Product menu, it displays whole list of products in kanban view, I would like to get them displayed in list view by default,

You login as admin
Enable Developer mode
Go to Product Template List
In Developer menu select Edit action
Change View mode form "kanban,tree,form" to "tree,kanban,form"
Change View Ref. form Product.template.product.kanban to product.template.product.tree
