How to get a contact based on a unique custom code

Question

I would like that in an application form, a unique code given by the user allows me to retrieve a contact id in order to retrieve and show information.
In this context, the idea would be to pop up a message in case the code is not valid.

The problem is that I do not want to show all the codes in the form. I would like to have a check when leaving the field and get the contact ID to display information or show a message box if the input code does not exists.

Hello Damien,
I think you have to put a field in search view so you can search contact from that unique custom code.
