I successfully added a new column "Category" to the Quotations Tree and the Create\Edit pages using the instructions on

I was also able to edit Quotations of Customers and fill values for the new field. But, when I launched the ERP portal after 2 days the columns no longer are visible also the developer mode was not active.

Do we have to perform some specific action to make the changes permanent.

Agree, develop a custom module for that.

Thank you for the assistance. I am using ERP7.0 version, when I tried to add the field(using the instructions on the link you have provided) I observed the field was already listed.

Hence I decided to modify it as per the instructions, I could not see the option stated under point 15 and the screenshot where we have to tick option "Active"

Please do confirm if the process remains the same for ERP7.0 too.

This method is not update safe. Please see this example https://www.odoo.com/forum/help-1/question/how-do-assign-customer-accounts-to-outsides-sales-reps-116933 or make a custom module.
