I am currently working on an Odoo 19 Enterprise on-premise deployment and am encountering a critical issue with connecting printers via the Windows Virtual IoT Box.

Issue Details:

  • The Virtual IoT Box was installed in C:\odoo\ and successfully connected to our on-premise Odoo database, which is hosted over HTTPS.
  • Upon opening the IoT Box interface, the following message is displayed:
“This IoT Box doesn’t have a valid certificate. The IoT Box should get a certificate automatically when paired with a database. If it doesn’t, try to restart it.”
  • I have attempted multiple restarts, but the certificate is never generated.
  • Accessing the IoT Box homepage from Odoo redirects to https:192.168.x.xxx, but the IoT Box continuously restarts without any output.

I have reviewed the Odoo documentation thoroughly, but was unable to find a solution.

Could you please provide step-by-step guidance or any recommended configurations for correctly pairing a Virtual IoT Box with an on-premise HTTPS-hosted database?

Hi,

Verify subscription and production environment, open required network ports and allow IoT Box outbound access, then pair via code/token. If the certificate still fails, review the IoT Box logs (in its homepage > Settings) for error codes like ERR_IOT_HTTPS_LOAD_REQUEST_EXCEPTION which indicate network or credential issues.
