I am getting the following error when attempting to close my first period (July 2015). "In order to close a period, you must first post related journal entries."
Now, I am not doing anything fancy. Just a handful of sales and purchase receipts for a small family business. (read: no taxes).
What do I do to close the month?
Ok. This seemed to get rid of the problem: Periodic Processing > Draft Entries > Post Journal Entries where I added the Sales Journal for the July period and "Approved". I did the same for the Purchase Journal for the same period. When I tried to close again. It worked!
I will try and figure what goes on as I am closing August.
