I have a small test set of data and want to see if I can create a line graph over time e.g. the x axis would be daily/hourly etc. and the y axis would be set to the values in the data.

The data I am testing this with records the date of a transfer, the name of a company and the amount, and I am trying to graph the total amount of money the companies are transferring over time. The theme of the data is irrelevant it more about the type of graph I am trying to create.
