Founded in 1995, Bodi Insurance is one of Mongolia's biggest insurers. The company now serves the country in 21 provinces and 26 branches. Cooperating with AXA Group's headquarters in France since 2014, the Mongolian company has introduced insurance technology (InsurTech) into the country and is now leading the sector's online insurance service with a hundred-strong team. 


With consistent growth in recent years, Bodi Insurance realized it was time to upgrade its internal system to manage its more prevalent financial reserves. 


Manually Built Claim Register Database

As Mongolia's top insurer, Bodi did not have a compatible internal system to support its growing business. Depending on different software, for instance, the local solution Ultimate ERP, for its CRM (customer relationship management), claims, people management, and other internal communications, the insurance company found it difficult to systematically manage its business, having data scattered across different databases — the team spent countless hours on transferring data across the systems manually.

As Mongolia's top insurer, Bodi did not have a compatible internal system to support its growing business. Depending on different software, for instance, the local solution Ultimate ERP, for its CRM (customer relationship management), claims, people management, and other internal communications, the insurance company found it difficult to systematically manage its business, having data scattered across different databases — the team spent countless hours on transferring data across the systems manually.


Yet the most critical missing piece in the previous management systems is the absence of an ICR (independent claim register). As much human work was dedicated to processing all the claim forms and finances, even more commitment was needed to build the company's claim register database from scratch by manually adding each and every account detail into it. 


The Odoo Migration 

Charmed by Odoo's comprehensive features and potential for customization, Bodi Insurance kick-started its first implementation phase with the Odoo Partner, ManageWall LLC, in 2016. Bodi started the migration by moving all finance management onto Odoo, then human resources management. Besides the standard modules, the Mongolian insurer developed the customized Claim module that is connected to Odoo Accounting and Employees based on the Odoo source code with Managewall. 


Productive Claim Management and Enhanced Client Service

Through seamless support and constant training by the Odoo partner, the Bodi team quickly got used to the new system and experienced myriad improvements in its new workflow with Odoo.


The first and most noticeable improvement comes with the customized Claim module, where the team spends only 2-3 seconds to search for an existing client contract, which used to take nearly a minute to complete on the previous system. Integrated with Odoo Accounting, Bodi's Claim module automates customer claims' approval and payment processes. The Claim app automatically picks up all customer claims and generates internal approval requests in real-time to email the respective Bodi account managers. 


Once the claim and payment are verified, the Bodi team can access the Accounting app with a few clicks to double-check that the claim is accurately entered in the accounting journal within the same window. The team could then log a note with the accounts' most recent updates and set new tasks to notify the persons responsible, creating more upselling opportunities while securing more attentive customer service.



Apart from enhanced efficiency thus, better client service, the new Odoo system also connects the Claim app to Odoo Employees for easier commission calculation. As the respective customer manager profiles are all interlinked with their accounts, the finance team has a much easier time now calculating the commission amount each salesperson gets. This feature also allows the team leaders at the company to easily spot the best-performing and fastest-growing salesperson and country utilizing the intuitive Odoo reporting system.
