Hi everyone...

Hope you're doing good...not me! :-) 

Since to days i'm trying to get rid of the "account peppol" error message:  External dependency phonenumbers not installed: No package metadata was found for phonenumbers.

But i'm not able to manage it. I have read all messages reagrding this topic, saying to install in CLI.

But my computer doesn't want :

C:\Users\Maarten TROMP>python -m pip install phonenumbers

Python est introuvable ; exÚcutez sans arguments Ó installer Ó partir du Microsoft Store ou dÚsactivez ce raccourci dans ParamÞtres > Applications > paramÞtres d


I don't what do to do...I would like to try Odoo, but i don't understand why this happens, i'm really down! Could someone help me?

Thanks for your reply!

My python is the 3.12.3, installed with the "Odoo package" 

I have tried to install the command line on windows CLI, but not whit any virtual env. I don't now how to make a virtual env. Sorry but i'm not programmer ;-)

and no issues if youre not a program can you get me a path in which your odoo package is located?
get me that path. ill help you further.
and also before further replying can you try this :"<odoo_install_path>\python\python.exe -m pip install phonenumbers
" for ex :""C:\Program Files\Odoo 17\python\python.exe" -m pip install phonenumbers
" and restart the service then check if the peppol error still exists then ping me here! telegram :"@jainil_002"
so if not solved we can solve your issue.

Hello Maarten,

Can you check the py version and get me back with it. Also if you've tried installing via the pip then, are you starting the virtual env if not then do so if yes then lets discuss further once youre done checking the version if youre facing issue while instaalling the library tell me that also make the issue lil more descirptive so i can help you

in CLI the following command worked perfectly :
C:\Program Files\Odoo 18.0.20250816\python\python.exe" -m pip install phonenumbers

And now, as a miracle Odoo works again.

Is this a bug in the installation? While it seems I haven't been the only one affected with the error message and having headache trying to resolve it...

Neither a bug nor a miracle - you've just eventually used the correct python installation used by your Odoo setup (a path chosen at the time of installing Odoo itself).
