Hello,

I have published a module on the Odoo App Store under my current Odoo developer account. I would like to know if it's possible to transfer the ownership of this published app to another developer or company account.

If ownership transfer is supported, what is the official process to initiate this? Are there any specific requirements or approvals needed from the Odoo team?

The module is developed for Odoo 18 Community Edition.

I would appreciate any guidance or official documentation regarding this.

Thank you!

No, Odoo does not officially support transferring ownership of a published app on the Odoo App Store between developer accounts.

 Workaround Options:

  • You can remove the app from the current account and re-upload it under the new developer account.
  • The new owner must re-publish the app manually with all necessary details.
  • Odoo does not offer a direct transfer or migration tool for published apps between accounts.

Hi,

Yes, it is possible to change the ownership. First, you need to transfer the GitHub repository ownership. Then, update the author, company, maintainer, and other relevant fields in the module’s manifest file. You also need to update the account details and payment credentials with Odoo.com.

Hope it helps

In my case, the GitHub repo is already under the company account, but I was logged into my personal Odoo account when publishing, so it shows under my name. The manifest file already has the correct company details. Is there a way to transfer the app ownership to the company’s Odoo account?
