I want to design my own dashboard for one of my projects. I want the dashboard to be displayed in front of the user when the user logs into the system. And redirect the user from there to different views. Can someone advice me how to go about it ..?

Can create dashboard with help of default openerp module. For example in sale, purchase, crm module Dashboard defined in the xml file "board_module_view.xml" and in the xml file object are used report object.[report/filename.py].
