API functionality - JSON / REST - from outside

Question

Hello,

I have a question regarding the API functionality of odoo:

1. we got a website on server A
2. we want to populate the website on server A using connection to API on odoo
3. we want to connect using *php* and we need SOAP, REST or other API to get out site up to date with stock and data

*Question: *Is that possible?
And is it possible from "outside"?

Odoo provide xml-rpc API and there is also php client for this.
