I have Point of Sale (POS) set up with Stripe WisePOS E terminal, which works well for POS sales.
It doesn't work for refunds using the test card on the terminal, giving an error of 'Fetch Secret'.
If anyone has had this problem or could offer any help in resolving this, I would be very grateful.

They've had this in the "pipeline" for over a year because I hounded them about it in January of last year and was given the same "its in the pipeline" answer back then. Unfortunately, the POS aspect of Odoo feels like it doesn't get the level of development it needs to really be a great solution. Not being able to refund a sale using the CC provider they formally recommend is a pretty large oversight.
I know it's not appropriate to "gripe" on the help forum. But this issue needs to be bumped up higher on the importance list for Odoo development.
Hi Sagar, unfortunately, no. I contacted Odoo support who told me this is not functional yet. They have this in the pipeline to resolve, but couldn't give me a time frame.
Odoo does not implement Stripe's refund API endpoint so it is just trying to send a negative payment. I wrote a module to fix this and add on-reader tipping. It is tested only for my specific environment on odoo version 17 with USD currency. You can find it on github. Search for bizlabs/stripe_extras (I don't have karma to post link).

This is crazy that Odoo/Stripe won't communicate to do a refund. This is standard business procedure. Yes, there may be an "app" to buy, but this should be standard operating procedure. Extreme amount of extra work to refund to a customer.
I agree! in the meantime, that is an "app" I can buy for odoo 18 as a solution/workaround??

It almost feels like stripe Odoo refund is trying to create a payment intent with stripe instead of refund. I feel could be buggy code.
