Does anyone know why the function to pause a timer was removed from the Helpdesk in Odoo 19? Our technicians loved this feature. Is there an easy way to re-enable it?

Hi,

The "pause timer" function, which your technicians valued in Odoo Helpdesk, does not appear to be explicitly documented in Odoo 19. While Odoo 19's Helpdesk, integrated with Timesheets, allows for tracking time by starting and stopping timers directly from tickets or manually logging hours, a dedicated "pause" feature is not detailed in the official materials. It's possible this functionality was removed, was part of a custom module in a previous version, or the current "stop" and "start" actions are intended to serve as a de facto pause.

To address your technicians' needs, you should encourage them to utilize the existing "start and stop" timer functionality or manually log their time on Helpdesk tickets. For definitive information regarding the feature's status, its removal, or any plans for its reintroduction, it is highly recommended to contact Odoo Support directly via odoo.com/help. If the standard Odoo 19 features prove insufficient, custom development could be an option to re-implement the desired functionality, though this would typically require an Odoo Enterprise 'Custom Plan' subscription and engagement with an Odoo Partner or a development team.

First of all, I'd like to thank you for your contribution and your efforts. Unfortunately, I can't do much with this information. Where do I need to make which buttons and actions visible again? Can you tell me what the fields are called? Is this even possible via the Studio? It's so frustrating how much can be broken with an update, as happened in version 19. 

I also don't understand why karma points are needed to properly reply to threads or to mark a self-created thread as solved. The way this is being handled is so nonsensical. Nevertheless, thank you to everyone who takes the time and offers support.

Because the Pause / Resume buttons have been removed from the Project Task form view in timesheet_grid enterprise module.

So you can either add back the buttons + invisible fields to trigger state reload, or if you do not have access to do that, you can call manually the actions through ORM calls via browser console (use action_timer_resume if you want to resume):

odoo.__WOWL_DEBUG__.root.env.services.orm.call('project.task', 'action_timer_pause', [odoo.__WOWL_DEBUG__.root.actionService.currentController.currentState.resId]).then(() => odoo.__WOWL_DEBUG__.root.env.services.action.loadState());
