La société Rieffel a été créée en 1938, par Henri Rieffel, d’abord agriculteur, il a ensuite également concilié le métier de choucroutierEn 1958, la société est reprise par Marcel Rieffel qui continue à perpétuer les deux métiers, tout en augmentant les volumes en choucroutes
En 1966, il décide de s’agrandir et de construire un nouveau hall de fabrication de choucroute crue 3 rue du Maréchal Foch à Krautergersheim, puis en 1968, d’un nouvel hall, mais cette fois-ci sur la rue principale, toujours à Krautergershem, pour permettre de répondre à une demande de plus en plus forte Alimentation / Hôtellerie / Tourisme
