Dear Forum,

When I try to request a password reminder email, I get the error below and I don't receive any emails.

Error:

Failed to send mail Emailing stalled on SMTP server: 'None'. SMTPRecipientsRefused: {'example@gmail.com': (554, b'5.7.1 example@gmail.com: Recipient address rejected: Sender is not the same as SMTP authenticate username ')}

Hello,

Make sure you configured the valid outgoing mail server and also test the server after configuration.

if i test the connection, i get a successful connection to the smtp server. any other ideas?

Would you know if users (other than the SMTP authenticated user) are able to send emails from the chatter?

If the issue is limited to reset password email then you might want to validate the 'From' id on the email template

Settings > Technical > Email Templates
select 'Auth Signup: Reset Password' and 'Email configuration' tab, you can default it to the email id of the SMTP authenticated user
