I followed the suggested steps, but I’m still facing the same issue:

• Validation fails for some orders.
• Printing does not work consistently.

Additional info:

• No IoT Box/POSBox (direct browser printing).
• Odoo 18 Community deployed on AWS EC2 with a custom domain.
• I checked the browser Console (F12) — I can see some JavaScript errors during validation/printing.
• No custom modules affecting POS.

It seems like a frontend or server communication issue.

Any suggestions on how to fix this or anyone else facing similar issues in Odoo 18 POS?

Check for Common Causes

These issues are often linked to:

• Missing or incorrect printer configuration
• Problems with network or proxy setup
• Issues with the POSBox or IoT Box
• JavaScript errors in the browser (since POS runs in a web interface)
• Misconfigured receipt templates

Confirm POS Printer Setup

• If you’re using POSBox or IoT Box:
  • Make sure the device is connected and turned on
  • Check if the browser can communicate with it
  • Test with the POS IoT diagnostic tool in Odoo

 You can test by:

• Going to Point of Sale > Configuration > IoT Boxes
• Click on your IoT Box and test the printer connection

Enable Auto-Print (if needed)

• Make sure "Automatically Print Receipt" is enabled in your POS settings.

Path:

• Go to Point of Sale > Configuration > Point of Sale
• Select your POS session config
• Scroll to the Bills & Receipts section
• Check the box for Auto Print

Inspect Receipt Template

• The receipt layout might be broken or have syntax errors.
• Check the custom receipt template (if you're using one) for any issues.

Use Developer Tools in Browser

• Open the POS in a browser
• Use F12 (Developer Tools) to view the Console tab
• Look for JavaScript errors when trying to validate or print
• This helps you identify if there’s a frontend issue

Check for Module Conflicts or Custom Code

• If you have installed custom POS modules or made changes to the JS, XML, or Python files related to POS:

Restart & Update

• Restart your Odoo server and browser
• If using a deployed version, clear the browser cache

• Make a test transaction
