This behavior is normal in Odoo and usually means the putaway rules are not being triggered, not that putaway rules are broken.

1. Putaway rules are applied only at receipt (incoming picking)

   • They work only when validating the receipt

   • They do not move stock automatically after it reaches WH/Stock

2. Location hierarchy issue

   • Putaway rules must be defined on child locations of WH/Stock

   • If rules are set on the wrong location level, Odoo ignores them

3. Product-specific rule missing

   • If the product laptops2 has no matching rule, Odoo falls back to WH/Stock

4. Storage capacity is not a trigger

   • Storage category / capacity does not automatically redirect stock

   • Odoo does not re-evaluate putaway rules based on capacity overflow

Putaway rules in Odoo:

 Decide where to store during receipt

 Do NOT dynamically move stock when a location is full

• Define clear product-specific putaway rules

• Ensure locations are proper child locations

• If capacity-based redirection is required → customization is needed
