This talk will cover version 10 Enterprise, and people will learn about how Odoo was successfully implemented for a Customer evolving very very fast, and today present all around the world.
Attendees can expect to learn about the benefits of using a solution like Odoo to quickly have a standard management software and make it evolve with the growth and needs of the company. We'll put some focus on the automation of the sales, mrp, and purchases modules with the EDI integration (Web Services).
Yvolution is a maker of wheeled children’s toys. We make and ship all sorts of bikes, skates, scooters, and flikers. We are a big believer in swapping screen time for fresh air and that physical play is essential for developing confidence later on in life, not to mention the physical benefits. We were set up in 2009 and have grown to be a $50m company today. Products are designed in Dublin, made in China and shipped to over 40 countries around the world. Our main sales are in the US where customers include Walmart, Toys R Us and Amazon. In Europe we ship to Halfords and Argos (UK), Intersport (France), Dream Land (Belgium), Sport Koenig (Germany) among others.
A rising volume of orders has meant that we need to look at new ways of handling order entry. We cannot cope entering orders manually. On one day alone last year we handled 4,500 order lines. If trends continue this will top 10,000 order lines in a single day. We decided to embrace EDI to handle the customers that generate the most order lines. These are main US retailers, Walmart, Amazon, TRU for which we handle drop shipping. Drop shipping is a process where the customer orders off the retailer and we ship the product direct to the customer from our warehouse.
We have partnered with SPS as our EDI gateway in the US and developed the EDI modules in Odoo using BHC. SPS handle all the PO’s from the retailers, passing them into Odoo for approval and forwarding them to our warehouse. The warehouse return data based on the goods that were shipped and allow us to generate an invoice in Odoo to forward to the retailer. This is all automated.
