Jigar Amin, Software Developer US - OdooFait
Frederik started his first company back in 1997 at the age of 19 when the Internet was still quite new and websites where the latest technology to have for SME. Besides being a long time Open Source enthusiast and researcher at the Otto-von-Guericke University (+30 publications) in Magdeburg from which Frederik has been graduated and holds a PhD, he is the owner and CEO of initOS one of the German Odoo partners located just south of the city of Hamburg and with a development center in Magdeburg.
Odoo users, primarily management and leadership staff concerned with organizational knowledge management, will be interested in this talk.
Version covered: Odoo Version 10 (Community), Nextcloud Version 12 and Mantis Version 1 / 2
Within the talk Frederik will present the prototype of a holistic knowledge management solution developed by using Odoo v10 as the core system and its integration with a DMS (NextCloud) as well as a ticket system (Mantis). The audience will learn about the technical challenges faced while doing cross-system communication on meta data (about so-called knowledge artifacts) and the extension developed for Odoo to let Odoo be the core component of an IT-based organizational knowledge management solution.
This talk will be a live system demo an a holistic KM solution.
The presentation will be introduced with a short summary and explanation of the challenges and benefits of organizational knowledge management. However, the presentation will primarily concentrate on showcasing the prototype system that has been developed under the frame of the MACKMA research project (www.mackma-project.eu) and funded by the German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the results gathered from the first test with industry partners.
Although the code will most likely be released timely and entirely under an Open Source License it should be considered as an Odoo vertical just like OpenEducat for the time being.
