The challenge
Citymesh's primary challenge was that standard Odoo could not support their advanced financial and operational requirements. Their need for multi-dimensional analytical reporting, segmented by budget responsible and cost centers, was a core limitation. The default approval flows for invoices were too simplistic for their multi-company structure and variable rules. Operationally, they faced issues selling products with different subscription intervals on a single quote, managing equipment availability for field service tasks, and generating project progress reports for clients before invoicing.

To meet these needs, dear digital developed a suite of custom modules. They introduced "Budget Responsible" and "Cost Center" as new reporting axes and integrated them across accounting, sales, and purchasing. An advanced approval system was built to allow for dynamic, rule-based invoice approvals with custom user groups. A unique solution automatically splits orders with multiple subscription intervals into separate draft quotations. Furthermore, the Field Service app was enhanced to allow for assigning and scheduling equipment, and a new feature for generating "Statements of Progress" was added to the sales workflow.
The results
With the custom Odoo modules, Citymesh now has a powerful and tailored system. They achieved greater financial clarity and control with multi-dimensional reporting. A new, dynamic approval system streamlined invoice processing. The solution also boosted operational efficiency in sales and field service, improving equipment management and client communication with automated progress reports.
