All is in the question. I don't know if the posbox will be found automatically by the VPS or if I need to go by the browser with some plug-in ?

I've setup a POS both locally, on a VPS and our own servers. All these methods work.
All you have to do is change your settings for the POS session. You should check the checkmarks for the items you need (for example a weighing scale) and the IP address of the server.
Short answer: It will work, provide the IP of the PosBox in your Odoo server under your POS session.

I've tested the posbox with Odoo SaaS. Enter under Cash Register settings the local ipaddress for Hardware Proxy (poxbox). It works with Chrome browser, the local network symbol turn green in the pos screen, but with Firefox is doesn't work (lan symbol is red)
FYI, Firefox works with Odoo on a vps.
