We are currently using version 8 of Odoo and would like to know more on how the system calculate the depreciation of assets.
 
For example: the value of asset is 12,000 and is to be depreciated each month for 12 months. And the purchase date of the asset is 01-Aug-2015
 
This is an easy case, if we were to calculated manually at the month of Aug-2015 we will depreciate 1,000. But what the system calculated is not 1,000 but 416.44
 
For your info, I choose “Prorata Temporis”.
 
Could you please let me know why the system is calculated this way?
