1. What is recommended for accounts I do not need?

Delete the unneeded accounts. Deprecate the unneeded accounts. Archive the unneeded accounts.

2. I do not need the "Current Year Earnings" account. What can I do with it?

The account is Odoo-specific and should NOT be modified in any way. I can delete or deprecate it, it is only for specific use-cases. I can modify and tailor it to my specific business needs.
