Hello, I'm currently in the testing phase with Odoo.

We are a small tradesman's business with two people.

We have many services that come from annual contracts, which are carried out and collected throughout the month and then billed together on a specific date.

So far, I've always handled this with delivery notes, which I then consolidate into a collective invoice on, say, the 20th of the month.

For example, this is a service like garbage can service. The delivery fee and the service itself are due on certain days.

My question is, is this also possible in Odoo?

Do I need to use a specific app for this? (Field Service)

THANK YOU!

Hello,

🟢 1. Subscriptions (App / Abonnements)

How it works

  • A product can be sold as a subscription service (e.g. SaaS license, monthly maintenance, gym membership).
  • When a customer signs up, Odoo creates a Subscription contract.
  • The contract automatically generates invoices at the chosen frequency (monthly, yearly, etc.).
  • Customers can manage their subscription (pause, cancel, renew) through the customer portal.
  • Works very well with payment providers like Stripe, Mollie, Adyen for automatic recurring payments.

🔵 2. Recurring Plans

How it works

  • New feature in Odoo 18 Sales.
  • You can now add recurring lines directly in a quotation/sales order.
  • Each line can be tied to a Recurring Plan (e.g. monthly, yearly).
  • Once the quotation is confirmed, Odoo automatically generates recurring invoices from that sales order.
  • You can combine one-time items and recurring services in the same quotation.

Example

  • Quotation = "Software Installation (one-shot €1000)" + "Monthly Support (€200/month)".
  • Once confirmed:
    • Odoo invoices the €1000 installation immediately.
    • Then starts generating €200 invoices every month, based on the recurring plan.
