The error message specifies the required groups: "Sales/Administrator" or "Role / Member." The primary solution is to add the user to the appropriate group based on their role. Navigate to Settings > Users & Companies > Users, select the user, edit their profile, and under the "Access Rights" tab, assign them to either the "Sales/Administrator" group by setting the Sales application access to "Administrator," or to the "Role / Member" group if applicable. Save the changes and have the user log back in.
Alternatively, if the user should not have access, you can adjust access rights, but this is an advanced and potentially risky approach. Enable developer mode, go to Settings > Technical > Security > Access Rights, search for product.ribbon access rights, and carefully modify them to restrict the user's group. Incorrectly modifying access rights can break your Odoo installation, so proceed with caution. The error typically arises from misconfigured user roles or permissions, and product ribbon access is often restricted to control product catalog and marketing efforts.

I checked under Technical → Security → Access Control Lists, and I only see one record named access_website_technical_page — there is no entry for product.ribbon anywhere.
Also, my Shop page is public (it can be viewed by all visitors without signing in).
Because of that, I’m not sure how to manage or adjust the user access settings for public visitors in order to fix this 403: Forbidden (product.ribbon) issue.
Could you please guide me on what to do next — for example, how to add read access for public users, or if this needs to be done by Odoo support on hosted (odoo.com) websites?

I’m facing an issue on my Odoo Online website (hosted at apt-computer.odoo.com).
My Shop page is publicly visible (no login required).
Everything was working fine — I had around 16 product categories before, and all of them displayed correctly.
But yesterday, after I created one new category and added products under it, my website started showing this error for public visitors:
403: Forbidden The page you were looking for could not be authorized. Error message: You are not allowed to access 'Product ribbon' (product.ribbon) records. This operation is allowed for the following groups: - Sales/Administrator - Role / Member
If I log in as admin, the page loads normally.
The issue only appears for public users (non-logged-in visitors).

You’re logged in as a normal Sales User rather than a Sales Administrator. Odoo restricts access to Product Ribbon records, allowing only users in the Sales/Administrator group or the Role / Member group to read or modify them. When you try to open or save a product, Odoo attempts to access the related ribbon field, but because your user doesn’t have the required permissions, the operation is blocked and the system shows the access error.
To fix this, you can either add your user to one of the allowed groups, such as Sales Administrator, or extend read access to normal users by updating the ir.model.access.csv file to grant read-only permissions for the product.ribbon model. If you are not using ribbons, another option is to hide or remove the ribbon field from the product form view to prevent Odoo from checking access.

Please check below record in security/ir.model.access.csv file in your custom module.

I’ve checked the access rights for the Public User and confirmed that they don’t have permission to view Product Ribbon records.
My question: Could you please confirm that ribbons have been added to all products, or only to the newly added products where you’re encountering the issue?
