We need to have very tight control over our customer list, so I'm looking for the option to stop people from creating their own accounts on the website. This is possible on the standard website, but the option for this disappears when you install eCommerce. Is there a way to enable this option again with eCommerce installed?

You can disable it in setting > website > Sign in/up at checkout.

You can do that from website app settings -> then in "Shop - Checkout Process" set the "Sign in/up at checkout" to Disabled (buy as guest)
