Hello guys,

I'm a scout and need to use odoo for a event that will happen in the 30&31 of May. Last year we've uses the Odoo freetrial and connectec a virtual IoT with 2 printers (front and kitchen) and it worked perfectly.

However this year, I created a new freetrial accout and got  "No subscription linked to your IoT Box. Please contact your account manager to take advantage of your IoT Box's full potential.

My question is, what do i need to do in order do use the virtual IoT Box?

Do I need to pay subscription to use it in FreeTrial of 15 days? Do i need a Odoo montly app plan in order to use it all? Or both? This is so confusing, thank you.

Integrating IoT devices with Odoo during your free trial is a great way to explore how Odoo can enhance your business operations. Here's a concise guide to help you get started:

Getting Started with Odoo IoT in Your Free Trial

  1. Install the IoT Module:
    • Navigate to the Odoo Apps Store within your trial environment.
    • Search for the IoT module and install it.
  2. Set Up the IoT Box:
    • The Odoo IoT Box is a Raspberry Pi-based device that connects external hardware (e.g., printers, scanners, sensors) to your Odoo database.
    • Connect your devices to the IoT Box using USB, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or Ethernet.
  3. Pair the IoT Box with Odoo:
    • Ethernet Connection:
      • Connect the IoT Box to your network via Ethernet.
      • Power on the IoT Box and note the pairing code displayed.
      • In Odoo, go to the IoT app, click on Connect, enter the pairing code, and click Pair.
    • Wi-Fi Connection:
      • Power on the IoT Box without an Ethernet cable connected.
      • Connect your computer to the IoT Box's Wi-Fi network.
      • Access the IoT Box homepage via its IP address.
      • Enter the token provided in Odoo to complete the pairing process.
  4. Manage Connected Devices:
    • Once paired, connected devices will appear in the IoT app dashboard.
    • You can assign devices to specific operations, such as printing receipts in POS or capturing data from sensors in manufacturing.
