Hi there,

I imported an excel file, to populate porducts, bill of material, components and opertaions. Everything seemed to work, but when I started testing, i had an error concerning the Unit of measure invalid (I used the kg)

Did anybody experience the same thing

thanks a lot in advance

Yes, this is a common issue that some users have experienced in Odoo. The error message “Unit of Measure value is invalid” typically occurs when there is a mismatch between the Unit of Measure (UoM) specified in your imported data and the UoM set in Odoo for the respective products.

Here are a few things you could check to resolve this issue:

UoM Mismatch: Ensure that the UoM specified in your Excel file matches the UoM set in Odoo for each product1. For example, if a product’s UoM is set to ‘units’ in Odoo, but in your Excel file it’s set to ‘kg’, this could cause the error.

Required Fields: This error can also occur when a required field is not provided. Make sure all required fields, including UoM, are filled in your Excel file.

UoM Settings: Check your UoM settings in Odoo. Go to Inventory > Configuration > Settings and ensure your unit of measure setting is "Some products may be sold/purchased in different units of measure (advanced)".

I solved the problem. The Unit of measure was not specified inside the Bill of Materials while I was importing, which was empty. So while importing the final product, I also added Bill of Materials/Unit of Measure, specifying kg.
