Discounts not working on quote!

Question

Hello,

I am making quotes for customers, and I wanted to put a discount on the quote. I made a coupon for 10% and copied the code, but when I clocked the coupon code button and put in the code it said "invalid code"
I tried this a different way by using discount code instead of coupon code and made it really simple, so the code was "test"
again though it said invalid code even though i set the validity to the end of the month and made sure all the parameters were correct.

Hi,

You have the option to follow these steps to establish a discount:

Navigate to Settings under configuration in Sales module and enable Discounts, Loyalty & Gift Card

Navigate to Discount & Loyalty under products and create a new coupon.

You can access the coupons by simply clicking on the smart button Coupons.

Then copy any coupon code.

Create a sale order and click Coupon Code button.

Apply the coupon code here.

The sale order receives the applied discount.
